Havelock, NC is located in Craven County. It is home to Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, which is the world’s largest Marine Corps air station. It is also home to the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing. Not only that, but it is also the home of Havelock High School who won the NCHSAA 3A State Championship in football four times. Havelock is a town with a lot of history associated with it. Havelock’s main highway is US 70 which runs west to east through the center of town. There is also NC 101, also known as Fontana Boulevard, where there are two entrances to the Marine Base, and if you continue on for approximately 20 miles the road will take you historic Beaufort, where you will find a beautiful and fun waterfront with a marina and many shops and restaurants. Beaufort is an excellent area for boating and all kinds of water activities. A new By-Pass is in the process of being built now that will take 70 bypasses around the city.

If you stay on 70 bypasses for 17 miles through Havelock you will come to Morehead City, where you can go to the Crystal Coast beaches that are located along the Atlantic Ocean. Havelock has several elementary, middle, and high schools, and a private school and a short drive to New Bern will take you to Craven Community College. New Bern also has an airport, making Havelock a very convenient location to many things. Living in Havelock will give you all the amenities you need for everyday life, including grocery stores, Walmart, drug stores, doctors, banks, post office, and many restaurants. There is a hospital in New Bern and one in Morehead City.
