The Moorings is an upscale waterfront community on the west shore of Clubfoot Creek, which was the original Intracoastal Waterway and a secondary nursery for green shrimp, flounder, and blue crabs. There are only 50 lots in this community and all the homes are custom built with 3+ bedrooms, 3+ bathrooms, garages and can be over 4000 square feet in size. Of the 50 lots, 17 are waterfront with private docks and having from one to four boat slips. This creek spans 1000+ yards wide. You can watch the dolphin play or catch your own shrimp from your dock. Anywhere in the creek you can go crabbing, flounder gigging at night, canoeing, kayaking, or jet skiing, fishing or just relax with the sound of the wind and water slapping.  Sunrises and moonlight on the water are beautiful on the creek. For the off-water lots, there is a 22-slip marina that provides deeded deep water boat slips. One of the advantages in The Moorings is that the lots are higher than most property that is on the water. Some of the lots are as much as 14 feet above mean high water. This area is served by the county water system and a local volunteer fire department, which is close by the community. Boat owners here have easy access to the Neuse River, the Pamlico Sound, the ICW, and the Atlantic Ocean via the Beaufort Inlet. These waters are generally acknowledged to be at the center of sailing in this part of the East Coast. From this area, you are only 9 miles west of Cherry Point, and you can be in historic Beaufort in 30 minutes.  It only approximately 10 minutes to get to Havelock where you can get all amenities and go shopping or dining. The schools are Roger Bell Elementary, Havelock Middle, Havelock High and there is Carven Early College High and Early College East High.
