Atlantic Beach is located in Carteret County and has earned the nickname of being the Crystal Coast because of the beautiful, pristine water.  Atlantic Beach is bordered by the beautiful waters of the Atlantic Ocean and by Bogue Sound.  

This area has many homes, townhomes, and condo’s, that are offered for sale from the East end of the beach to the West end, which is known as Emerald Isle.

The areas along Atlantic Beach include Ft. Macon State Park, Indian Beach, Pine Knoll Shores, and Emerald Isle. Atlantic Beach offers many fine restaurants and fun places to shop.  Each community has a post office and fire department. There are also many walking and biking trails on the beach and sound side as well as Ft. Macon, which is always a fun way to spend a day.  

The Pine Knoll Shores area has the NC Aquarium that is full of fun things to see and do. Emerald Isle has a water park, and there are fishing piers located all along the coast. There is also an inlet at Ft. Macon State Park and an inlet at Emerald Isle. Just a short ride across the bridge of Atlantic Beach, you will be in Morehead City, NC, where there are many places to shop, live, eat or find any conveniences and necessities that you might need. 

When you go to the mainland, you will have access to the hospital, doctors, churches, shopping, dining, and activities. To drive the length of the beach from Ft., Macon State Park to Emerald Isle will take approximately 30 minutes or longer, depending on the traffic. Of course, the summer months are hectic, so travel is a bit slower. The schools for the beach area are located on the mainland and include Carteret County Public Schools, some Private Schools, and Carteret Community College.
